IPTA Raigarh: 5th Interschool Drama Competition 2012 concludes with enthusiasm 5th Interschool Drama Competition 2012 concludes with enthusiasm ====================================================NuLLeD by x-MoBiLe T.E.A.M================= ==== IPTA Raigarh on 11 January, 2012 08:16:00 The Interschool Drama Competition concluded on a high level of enthusiasm, with different schools participating and presenting some compelling plays. The competition witnessed eight plays by five different schools of the city. The competion was presided over by Shri Hrishikesh Sulabh. The judges for the evening were Shri Naushad Ali (Veteran artist), Smt Suman Thakur (Theatre Enthusiast) and Shri Anupam Paul (Theatre artist). The competition was divided into two categories of Junior and Senior levels. The schools which participated in Junior level were Shalini Convent School (Play Mera Adhikar), Lions Public School (Play Andher Nagari), O.P. Jindal School (Play Chashma) and Carmel Convent Girls School (Play Van Mahotsav). The plays ranged from social messages like Aforestation and Child marriage to serious issues of identity and government apathy to comical representation of greed and opportunistic behaviour. The play Mera Adhikar won the first prize, Andher Nagari the second and Van Mahotsav won the third prize. Along with this, Devsingh Parihar won the Best Direction trophy for the play Andher Nagari and Shashank Jivpradhan won the Best Acting trophy for his role as the narrator for the play Mera Adhikar. The schools which participate in Senior level were O.P. Jindal School (Play Maachis), Carmel Convent Girls School (Play Sadak Adalat Mein), Vivekanand High School (Play Vijay Julus) and Shalini Convent School (Play Hamara Kartavya). The plays talked about a more varied spectrum of issues which included sattires on the political dysfunctioning, red tapism and aristocracy to rich metaphors from a match stick. The play Maachis won the first prize, Sadak Adalat mein the second and Hamara Kartavya the third. Aparna Shrivastava won the prize for the Best Director for the play Sadak Adalat mein and Shikhar Prasad won the prize for Best Acting for his role in the play Maachis. The schools displayed a spark of creativity and understanding towards theatre and stage, which was one of the major objectives behind the competition.
