'Oh oh yeh hai India' opens the 18th NTF

The play, directed by Pravin Kumar Gunjan, opened the 18th National Theatre
Festival 2012.
The play talks about a lot of burning issues India is facing today in a style,
which represents the fast paced generation of the day. It used electronic music,
gigs, videos and an array of visual elements to pull the age old burning issues
and give them a fresh perspective, a view which is not boring, but not meant for
entertainment as well. The play talks about the issues of corruption, harrasment
with women, terrorism and so on. Rather, it tries to analyse these issues.
The use of poetic devices throughout the play also makes it more righteous and
confident about what it is trying to talk about. It is also a take on
uber-contemporary issues which include Anna Hazare and Kiran Bedi. The nation
has come down miles below what it was in 1947, as suggested by the play, has
resulted on our reverse growth. The play also asks a lot lot questions, and
leaves them unanswered for us. It does not seek to find a solution to any of
them.
'Oh oh yeh hai India' was a part of the workshop held in September, by Shri
Pravin Gunjan and the art direction was done by Shri N Kumar Das.
