IPTA Raigarh: 17th National Theatre Festival scheduled from 5th January 17th National Theatre Festival scheduled from 5th January ====================================================NuLLeD by x-MoBiLe T.E.A.M================= ==== IPTA Raigarh on 03 November, 2010 09:12:00 The 17th edition of the National Theatre Festival will be held between 5th and 9th January 2011. This edition will witness troupes from Patna, Gaya, Bhopal, Sidhi and Raipur. Shri Sanjay Upadhyay, an eminent theatre director, will be honoured with the 'Sharadchandra Vairagkar Rangkarmi Samman.' IPTA plans to honour one person every year as a part of their silver jubilee celebrations. Last year, Shri Rajkamal Nayak was honoured with this award for his contribution to the Hindi theatre. The annual Interschool Theatre Competition will also be held on 4th January as a part of the run-up to the festival. 'Rangkarm 2011' will also be released on 9th January. Rangkarm is the annual magazine which publishes handpicked articles by eminent theatre activists from India. The magazine, this year, is themed 'Indian folk theatre.' The festival is conducted with the money collected from generous donations of the people of Raigarh. The volunteers would start knocking the doors post-diwali for the festival fund.
