IPTA Raigarh: Festival concludes with Kahan Gaye Mere Ugna Festival concludes with Kahan Gaye Mere Ugna ====================================================NuLLeD by x-MoBiLe T.E.A.M================= ==== IPTA Raigarh on 15 January, 2009 04:39:00 The 15th National Drama Festival ended with a musical 'Kahan Gaye Mere Ugna', directed by Sanjay Upadhyay from Nirman Kala Manch, Patna. The play focused on the life of Bihar's classical poet - Vidyapati. Three contemporary poets of Bihar - Fanishwarnath Renu, Rajkamal and Baba Nagarjun - narrate the story of Vidyapati and his disciple Queen Lakhima. The play focuses on a small part of his life, where he leads his disciple into hiding, due to a crisis on the king and his kingdom. All day and night they travel and live in the forest in search of a hideout, so that she can be protected from the crisis. Meanwhile, Vidyapati is also on the quest to search his favorite disciple - Ugna, who has left him. Time and again, they meet a nat and nati who keep appearing in different avatars. The three cotemporary poets give their views on the great classical poet in different intervals and the story goes on untill Vidyapati could not save Queen Lakhima from a terrible disease, and she dies. The story ends here, but tries to capture the contemporary views on the classical life. The five day festival ended with inauguration on Rangkarm 2009 - annual magazine and also with a promise to bring better and bigger event next year.
