IPTA Raigarh: 'Baaki Itihaas' steals the show 'Baaki Itihaas' steals the show ====================================================NuLLeD by x-MoBiLe T.E.A.M================= ==== IPTA Raigarh on 10 January, 2009 12:05:00 IPTA JNU, New Delhi staged 'Baaki Itihaas', a play by Badal Circar, on the third day of 15th National Drama Festival. The play questioned many fundamental concepts of human life, including the most essential element - Hope The play revolves around a couple, where the wife is a writer and the husband a professor. The writer is in search of a plot, and tries scanning the newspaper and incidently glances at a suicide report of one of their acquaintainces. The play gains pace from this point, and the two struggle to find a plot, one after the other. During this they make two versions of the story and subconsiously it makes them think deeply. The later part of the play deals with the political history of bloodshed, wars and kings, and how a common man is trapped between these things and how graver problems remain unsolved. It also forces the audience to think about the whole affair in a different perspective, a historical one indeed. It reiterates the events which have changed us in the past, and thus makes us think again, do we really need to live? why or why not? It was complemented with credible acting which reflected deep understanding of the subject matter and the point behind it. The play was directed by Vipul Pachauri.
